Bob Sledd, Chairman
Bob Sledd is a Managing Partner of Pinnacle Ventures, LLC, a venture capital firm, and Sledd Properties, LLC, an investment company. Mr. Sledd is also the Senior Economic Advisor to Virginia’s Governor Robert McDonnell. He served as Chairman of Performance Food Group Co. (PFG), a foodservice distribution and produce processor company, from 1995 until June 2008. He served as CEO of PFG from 1987-2001 and from 2004-2006. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Owens & Minor, Inc., a national distributor of medical and surgical supplies and a healthcare supply chain management company; SCP Pool Corporation, a wholesale distributor of swimming pool supplies, equipment, and related leisure products; and Universal Corporation, the world’s leading leaf tobacco merchant and processor.
Ted Chandler
For the past ten years, Mr. Chandler was an executive at LandAmerica Financial Group, a Fortune 500 real estate services company, including the role of CEO from 2005-2009. He also held the roles of President, COO, and SVP-Strategy for LandAmerica during his tenure. Mr. Chandler served on LandAmerica’s Board of Directors and was its Chairman from 2007-2009. He also served on the Board for Hilb Rogal & Hobbs from 1982-2008, the world’s eighth largest property and casualty insurance broker prior to its sale to the Willis Group. Mr. Chandler spent over twenty years as an attorney with Williams Mullen in Richmond, VA, where he specialized in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and tax and securities law. He also served on the Board for the Mutual Insurance Company from 2000-2009. He is very involved in the Richmond area serving on numerous charitable and community boards.
Bill Conley
Bill Conley is the retired President of ATC Logistics & Electronics (ATCLE) of Fort Worth, TX, from 2002 through 2008, Mr. Conley led the now $370 million company through a 38% compounded annual growth, taking it from a private-label logistics firm serving a large national wireless company to a full-service, multi-location 3PL providing value-added logistics and supply chain services to some of the biggest names in high value, serialized device manufacturers. Prior to joining ATCLE, he spent 24 years with FedEx Corporation, including positions as Vice President, Logistics and Electronic Commerce for Asia Pacific and Vice President and General Manager, Europe, Middle East and Africa for FedEx Supply Chain Services based in the Netherlands. He has served on numerous non-profit, civic and corporate boards.
Austin Ligon
Austin Ligon is the retired co-founder of CarMax who was integrally involved in the leadership of CarMax since its inception. He served as President of CarMax since 1995 and CEO since the separation of the company from its former parent, Circuit City Stores, Inc. in 2002. He also served on CarMax’s Board of Directors from 1997-2006. Mr. Ligon also held senior executive roles with Circuit City and Marriott Hotels and Resorts. He is on the Governing Boards of the University of Virginia, the University of Virginia Investment Management Company (UVIMCO), and St. John’s College (Annapolis and Santa Fe), as well as the Advisory Boards for Yale School of Management and the Center for Talented Youth, Johns Hopkins University. Mr. Ligon serves on the Board of Directors for Gazelle, a web-based consumer electronics trade in and recycling company. He is also an investor and advisory/board member with five other early stage service/retail companies in the U.S. and Asia.
Tom Snead
Tom Snead is a retired key leader of the health insurance industry. For the year prior to his retirement, he served as President and CEO, of WellPoint Inc.’s Southeast Region. Prior to the merger of Wellpoint and Anthem November 2005, he served as President of Anthem Southeast. Mr. Snead was the Chairman and CEO of Trigon Healthcare, Inc. prior to its merger with Anthem Inc. in July of 2002. He worked for the above Blue Cross and Blue Shield Organizations in Virginia for more than 20 years before retiring in early 2006. Mr. Snead currently serves on several boards, including The Board of Trustees of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), a Founding Board Member of the School of Business Foundation of VCU, The Board of the VCU Health System, The Board of Trustees of the Virginia Historical Foundation, and The Board of Directors of The Riverside Health System. He also serves on a number of community and charitable boards including the Virginia Healthcare Foundation where he served as Chairman, and Johns Hopkins Medicine.
